About Us
The Big Butler Fair is the largest agricultural fair in Western PA. The event draws over 100,000 people from across Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia to enjoy 9 days of food, fireworks, carnival rides, games, demolition derbies, concerts, truck pulls and the Y108 Freedom Festival. Our fair is considered by many to be the best of its kind in the country.
From our humble 1855 beginnings in Kearns Crossing to our current New Castle home, the Big Butler Fair has grown every year since its inception. We’re in our largest space to date and today we’re proud to bring in local musicians like The Clarks to comedians like Brad Matchett.
Additional Activities Include:
- Great Food
- Square Dancing
- Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks
- Fair Queen Pageant
- Two Bike Nights – Annual Bike Night and Bike Night II

- …and much, much more!
Important Reminders:

- The Fair does not have a specific closing time. Depending on crowds, concerts, day, grandstand events and weather the Fair can stay open longer or close earlier. As a general rule of thumb, the fair closes around 11:00pm.
The Big Butler Fair provides a terrific opportunity for friends and family to spend time together. We are proud to bring people together and to be such a strong symbol of American family values. We also pride ourselves on being child-friendly, offering a daily petting zoo, camel rides, clowns and the Chainsaw Carving show.
Kids love the animals and games. Grown-ups love the music. We love bringing you exciting activities!
